Note: I'm not advocating drugs. I can think of plenty of reasons to regulate drug use (and ways to do so that would be preferable to our "War on drugs"). But the spate of anti-marijuana commercials at that time seemed particularly ridiculous. The described dangers included driving under the influence (how many times was this followed by a beer commercial?), playing around with a loaded gun (probably left out by a sober NRA fanatic), and funding terrorism. The possibility of lung cancer would be even more convincing, and I thought that one up by myself.
